Who is eligible: Anyone over the age of 18 can send (upload) images of trash inside a subway car. MTA employees are eligible, BUT photos should be taken while off duty (MTA discipline has no bounds).
What we will NOT accept: Photos of MTA employees, passengers’ faces, homeless people; obviously staged events; basically anything that is not what the contest is meant to show, i.e. Trash Trains.
What we will NOT publish: Images copyrighted by someone else besides you (who has not given permission for use) are ineligible. We expect that you own any images you submit.
Expect your images to be displayed on TWU’s public site, instagram, and FB pages. All photos when submitted may be used by TWU Local 100 in our campaign to secure more Cleaner jobs and win a fair contract from the MTA. We may use your photo to document our campaign or in union ads or flyers. We will not sell or market your photos -- copyright is reassigned to you, the owner, except for the union's rights as described above. Thank you for joining and making New York City subways cleaner and safer!
Contest dates: Individuals may send images until Nov. 30, 2019.
Winners: A winner will be selected by a vote of the public, conducted on line. (Photos used to promote the contest are not eligible for consideration). Full-time employees of TWU Local 100 or members of their immediate families are not eligible to win.
Prize: A prize of $500.00 will be awarded to the winner. A presentation of the check will be held at TWU Headquarters, Transport Hall, 195 Montague Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. In the event of a tie, the decision on which photo wins will be made by TWU staff.
